HOW TO GO BACK WHERE YOU WERE
Click the BACK button on the software you use to view the Web to return to the previous page. (Look for the BACK option on tool bar or menu at top of your screen.)
IS YOUR CARD FROM US?
If your card is from Awesome Cyber Cards, you will see www.marlo.com in the WWW addresses (URLs) given for the card and Pick Up Window. The card announcement will be from Marlo at marlo@marlo.com.
HOW TO FIND YOUR AWESOME CYBER CARD
Enter all 3 numbers of the 3 Number Directory Name (from the announcement we sent you) into the input box, including all 0s.
Type or (much safer!) copy and paste all 9 #s of the 9 Number File Code into the second input box.. Include all 0s.
Click the SHOW button. (It's below the TERMS.)
WHAT IF I GET A MESSAGE THAT THE CARD IS NOT ON THIS SERVER or THERE IS NO DATA IN DOCUMENT or I get NO RESPONSE?
Most likely reason: Any slight difference in either the Directory or File number you type in and the actual Directory and File Number, will give this result. For example:
a typo
transposing numbers (example, 967 rather than 976)
confusing a 3 with an 8 or a 7 with a 9, etc. (easy to do if the type on your email messages is small)
a missing zero (0)! (example, 31 rather than 031)
Here are the other common causes:
Forgetting to click the SHOW button.
Expired card? Is your card over seven days old? Cards are saved for only seven days, generally, though you are welcome to see if it is still online even after seven days.
Busy? Only if you received no response at all: is the service that provides you with internet access busy? Did you wait long enough? If not a timing problem, there is an error in the Directory or File Number.
Using older software? Are you using a relatively old version of software to view the WWW? If your WWW browser is not fully forms capable (example: AOL's www browser prior to version 3.0 released in the fall '96), you may not be able to use Card Pick Up, since it is a form. Instead, try the going to your card directly, as described later on this page in "Another Way to See Your Card".
HOW TO COPY AND PASTE?
Highlight the 9 Number File Code on you announcement by pressing down the left mouse button while you scroll your cursor over the code.
To then copy, press both the CONTROL key and the key for the letter C at the same time while the 9 Number File Code is highlighted.
Paste the code into the box marked 9 Number File Code on our Card Pick Up form by clicking in the box and pressing both the CONTROL key and the Key for the letter V at the same time.
ANOTHER WAY TO SEE YOUR CARD
Though most people find Card Pick Up easier, if you prefer, you can go directly to the card's direct WWW address. It is listed either ABOVE the code information towards the beginning or your announcement or on the NEXT TO LAST LINE of your card announcement.
TIPS:
Your email software may take you directly to your card if you click on the card's direct address while connected to the WWW. If your email software has the card address (URL) underlined and/or in a different color, it probably has the capacity to link you to WWW pages.
Otherwise, you can type or copy and paste the URL.
Small letters are different from caps. Be sure there are no spaces before, within or after. Slashes are forward / not backward \. Beware of 1s and 0s, as these letters and numbers look alike to the eye but not the internet. Best bet: copy and paste.
IMPORTANT: The Card's direct WWW address (its URL) is NOT the card's Directory or File Number. Do NOT use the direct URL at Card Pick Up. Instead type or (better) copy and paste it at the top of your screen in the menu area of your WWW browsing software (such as Netscape), in the white "URL" or "Location" input box.
Going directly to the URL (WWW address) of your card
Copy the card URL (WWW address) from your email announcement from us. If you do not know how to copy with a computer, here is how:
Highlight the card URL by scrolling over it with your mouse. Be sure only the URL is highlighted. A SPACE BEFORE OR AFTER a URL will prevent the URL from working.
Then hold down CONTROL key and C key at the same time to copy it into your computer's ram memory.
Paste the URL in the box on your WWW browser (the software with which you view the WWW). How to paste?
First erase the URL currently in your browser URL box by highlighting it and clicking the DELETE button on your keyboard.
Click in the Location or URL box on your browser. Then hold down CONTROL key and V key at the same time. The URL will be pasted into place.
Be sure the card URL in the browser URL input box is highlighted.
Press the ENTER button on your keyboard. After a few seconds your card
should appear.
TERMS: BY ACCESSING YOUR CARD YOU ARE AGREEING THAT WE HAVE NO LIABILITY.
If you do not know the person sending the card or do not wish to see the
card for any reason, or do not agree to these terms, please disregard the
announcement of your card.
TIP: Copying and pasting an address is safe, right? Yes, but there is one catch. S p a c e s. Be sure there are no spaces before or after the Card Code when you highlight it. The Code will not work with a space.

DURING HOLIDAYS & OTHER BUSY PERIODS SUCH AS NOW
We are able to answer only a percentage of the volumes of mail. Sorry. To keep our service free, we must forego increasing staffing. We have updated this Tips page to better assist you. Virtually everything we know about finding cards is on this page.
Copying and pasting the 9 Number File Code, will solve most problems, as long as you also correctly enter the Directory Number from your announcement and click the SHOW button.
(Or you can go directly to your card by copying the direct URL into your Web browser where URLs go, as described above.)
