Creating Cards (yes, it is free and private)

First, select a card to send

CHOOSE A CARD COLLECTION · The most current listing of all the many card collections is at www.marlo.com/card.htm. Click on the underlined name of any collection you want. Some collections, such as Holidays or Postcards, are so large that they direct you to a list of smaller collections, such as a collection for a specific holiday. If so, click on the name of the collection you want.
CHOOSE A CARD · At a collection, click on the underlined name of the card you want.

Create and review card

CREATE CARD · Fill out the short form you receive to personalize your card.
REVIEW CARD · Click the SHOW button at end of form for a review. From the Review page, you can send the card. (With our newest programs you can also add or change sound and color and make changes to your greeting.)

Send, print or make changes

·SEND Click a SEND button. (See topics Sending Cards and Awards or Problems When Sending below)

·PRINT: Click Print button to get a clean copy you can print. You use your own software for viewing the Web to print, so unfortunately we can't assist you with printing questions. But we do provide some printing information for you. (Click here for more info.)

·MAKE CHANGES: With our newest programs you can also add or change sound and color and make changes to your greeting. If your card does not offer these options, click the BACK button (near top of screen on the software you use to view the Web) to return to the card form to make changes. You can change as much or as little as you like. Click the SHOW button again to review the changed card.

Awesome Card Announce™ (recommended):
PLACE CARD ON WWW AND HAVE ANNOUNCEMENT SENT? Have us put your greeting card on the World Wide Web and SEND AN EMAIL ANNOUNCEMENT. (Available on all cards.) You give your email address only at the last step when making a card, as we do not need email addresses except when sending announcements for your card to you and the card recipient.
Awesome Card Direct™ (advanced):
SEND CARDS DIRECTLY VIA EMAIL? Requires special email software, for both card sender and recipient, that reads the HTML coding used on WWW pages. (Available on most cards.)

Where to Put Email Addresses

When will you see the boxes to enter email addresses? Only after clicking the SEND button (so you don't need to enter addresses for cards you don't decide to send). Enter full email addresses (ex., yourname@aol.com) for you and the card recipient and press the SEND EMAIL ANNOUNCEMENT button to create your final card.

Announcement for Your Card on the Web

When Are Announcements Sent? As soon as you click the SEND ANNOUNCEMENT button. (When you send a card by email yourself, Awesome Card Direct™, rather than having use put it on the WWW, no announcement is sent.)

You Received an Announcement for a Card You Sent?
REASON: We send an announcement to both the sender and recipient of a card or award, so the sender knows what we said and can check the recipient's email address.
You Realize Later that You Sent the Card to the Wrong Address?
SOLUTION: Send a copy of the announcement you received to the correct address. And jot a note to the incorrect email address to say, "Sorry, I sent a card to your address by mistake. Please ignore."

Where to PICK UP CARDS?
Card Pick Up or Card Finder Asks for Information You Don't Have?
REASON:
- 2 DIFFERENT SITES: Since we are phasing in a new filing system, we now have 2 different pick up sites. Only one will work. The correct address is listed in each announcement and also Card Finder and Card Pick Up each have links to the other site, in case you have one bookmarked and therefore arrive at the wrong site for your card. Click here and select the site for the type of card you were sent.
- FROM ANOTHER COMPANY: Is your card from us? If your card pick up address has "www.marlo.com" in it, it is from us. If not, it is from another site and therefore you need to contact that site rather than us.

Reload or Refresh

If you have been to a page before, hold down your SHIFT key and click the RELOAD or REFRESH button so you can see what is new. (RELOAD or REFRESH is at the top of your WWW browser.) Web browsers and also hubs along the Internet "cache" or same popular pages to save you time. However, this may mean you miss new content because you are seeing an older version of the page.

Music

Whether you can hear the music on our music cards depends on your computer's having specific hardware and software. Most newer computers will have the sound cards needed and a "midi" player. You will also need computer speakers. And a Web browser (software for viewing Web) which can play the music. Netscape 2.0 or higher and Microsoft Internet Explorer (MSIE) 3.0 or higher work. (Most other browsers do not. Usually online services such as AOL will give their members easy access to MSIE for those who wish to experience music, animation and so forth. MSIE is free.)

PRIVACY OF PERSONAL INFO
Because we send email announcements for cards on behalf of our visitors, we have access to personal information such as email addresses. Our policy is to respect the privacy of our visitors. We do not sell, barter or exchange email addresses you give us when sending a card. We reserve the right to write ourselves to our customers. We reserve the right to give our partners and other third parties (1) any overall site or user statistical information and/or (2) personal data, including email addresses, when individuals explicitly give us permission to utilize data, for example, when a visitor explicitly requests third party product or promotional information or services.

PRIVACY OF CARDS
All our greeting cards are posted on private pages, with the Web address of the page being sent only to those whose email addresses are entered by the card sender.

LIMITATIONS ON PRIVACY
Though we try to protect your privacy, any use of the WWW or of email creates the possibility that someone could access the data transmitted. Because of the limitations of Web and email technology and in order to protect ourselves from liability, we wish you to know that there is always some risk on the WWW that personal information might be accessed.
