TIP 1: Do NOT use s p a c e s within an email address or it will not be deliverable over the internet. (AOL and Prodigy have proprietory software that allows spaces within their systems. They remove the spaces for you when mailing outside their systems, since spaces do not meet internet protocol. But when sending a card you are using regular internet email, not that of your service, amd must remove the spaces yourself.)
TIP 2: When giving your email address on a form on the internet, as when sending a card (or a note to us), DO PUT the part after the "@" sign, such as "@aol.com". If you do not add the email server (the part after the @ ), our service will be added instead of yours, making your address incorrect and undeliverable.
Why? Internet protocol allows you to leave out your email server (the part after the @ sign) when mailing from your own email service, as the service will then simply attach itself to the address. B-u-t when sending a card or a note to us from a form on our site, you are using our email service rather than your own, so our email server will be added rather than yours.

rather than only the user or screen name.username@aol.com
TIP 3: It pays to be extremely careful when manually typing an email address. Even one small typing error makes the address undeliverable. Common mistakes are typing a comma instead of period or a period instead of the "@"sign, leaving out one character, adding a character or typing in the wrong character. Check the address carefully.
The format for an email address on the internet is
"username@emailserver.com"(or .org or .net or .gov) (if not USA, country code needed)
